Emerson Uninterruptible Power Supply Manufacturer Details: There are several typical architectures of modular UPS power supply

Emerson modular UPS power supply system structure is very flexible. The concept of power module design is that the system can be removed and installed at will while running without affecting the operation and output of the system, making investment planning "on demand expansion" and enabling users to achieve "dynamic growth" with business development, which not only meets the demand expansion of later equipment, but also reduces the initial purchase cost. Today's uninterruptible power supply manufacturers to introduce in detail:

1. Distributed Architecture

Distributed architecture is often used in early modular UPS. This kind of Emerson modular UPS system is equivalent to several independent UPS in direct parallel. Its power module is transformed from small UPS and can work independently. Its characteristics are as follows:

In addition to rectification and inversion control, current sharing and logical switching are also controlled by the internal control unit.

(2) Static bypass with the same built-in capacity and power module capacity. In bypass mode, the static bypass in each module bears the load together.

2. Distributed + Centralized Architecture

Distributed + centralized modular UPS devices all power module built-in control units are used for rectifier and inverter control of this module, and the functions of current sharing and logical switching of the whole system are extracted from the module internal control unit, which is controlled by a centralized control module. In order to eliminate the possible single point fault, the control module and the corresponding communication bus are redundant by 1 + 1. When one control unit fails, the power module of the Emerson UPS system can be controlled by another control unit in the hot standby state, seamless nozzle system, which ensures the uninterrupted operation of the system. At the same time, the static bypass module is no longer built in the power module, and the system is equipped with a static bypass module whose capacity is the system capacity.

Comparison of Logic Modes of Decentralized Control and Distributed + Centralized Control

The modularization of the distributed architecture adopts the decentralized control logic mode. Each module in the system contains a complete and independent control unit. The main control module of the system will be selected from all modules in the system through certain logic rules, and the rest modules as the slave control module will follow the scheduling of the main control module. When one of the slave control modules in UPS system fails, the other modules still work normally. When the main control module fails, competition rules can be used to make another module as the main control module to ensure that the system continues to work normally.

The advantage of decentralized control logic mode is that each control unit can control the system independently, so there is no single point of failure in this respect. But the disadvantages are also obvious. First of all, because the main control module not only processes its own signals, but also coordinates the signals between each module, the control logic is relatively complex, and the software logic reliability is not high. Secondly, after the failure of each main control module, a module will be generated as the main control module in the competition among the remaining modules, which is also prone to competition failure leading to system failure.

The control of rectification and inversion is distributed in the power module of distributed + centralized architecture, while the control of current sharing logic is centralized control mode, i.e. using independent centralized control module to detect the frequency and phase of municipal electricity, and then sending synchronous signal to each module. After receiving the synchronous signal, each power module outputs sinusoidal wave of corresponding frequency and phase through its own control loop. 。

When power loss occurs, the centralized control module generates synchronization signals by self-excitation and sends them to each UPS module to ensure that the output of each unit is in the same frequency and phase. At the same time, in the form of current sharing control, centralized modular UPS relies on control module to detect the load current of the whole system, then divides the number of system modules as the reference value of current sharing of each UPS module, and then compares the output current of each module to obtain the deviation value to continuously adjust the output current of each module, so as to ensure good current sharing among modules in the system. 。 The advantage of distributed + centralized control logic mode is that it adopts independent current sharing and logic control unit, which has better current sharing, clear control logic level, no competition among power modules, and high reliability of software logic. In order to ensure the reliability of the centralized control unit and avoid single point failure, the UPS control unit and communication line with this architecture will do 1 + 1 backup. 1 + 1 hot backup is the most commonly used backup method, and its reliability has been verified in the long-term operation of various systems.
